Overview

We are recruiting an experienced and hands-on Site Manager (Data Centre – White Space Outfitting) to oversee on-site delivery of data centre white space installations.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and act as the key on-site interface between project management, clients and delivery teams.

The role requires a strong focus on execution, quality and safety, ensuring that all installations are delivered in line with project specifications and Onnec standards.

 

What you’ll be doing as our Site Manager

 

Site Management & Delivery

  • Managing daily on-site activities related to white space outfitting, including rack installation, containment systems, cabling and associated infrastructure
  • Supervising site teams, subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is executed according to plan
  • Coordinating site schedules and ensuring alignment with overall project timelines
  • Monitoring progress and proactively addressing delays, risks or resource gaps
  • Ensuring materials, tools and equipment are available and used effectively on site
  • Reporting site progress, issues and updates to Project Managers and stakeholders

 

Quality Assurance & Installation Standards

  • Ensuring all installations are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards
  • Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks
  • Identifying and resolving installation issues and non-conformities
  • Supporting QA/QC processes, including documentation and as-built verification
  • Promoting a culture of high-quality workmanship across site teams

 

Health & Safety

  • Ensuring full compliance with HSE requirements, site rules and safe working practices
  • Leading daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions
  • Monitoring site safety and intervening where necessary to prevent unsafe behaviours
  • Working closely with HSE teams to maintain a safe working environment

 

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Acting as the main on-site point of contact for internal teams, subcontractors and client representatives
  • Supporting clear communication between site teams and project management
  • Coordinating multiple trades and ensuring efficient workflow on site
  • Supporting client visits, inspections and walkthroughs

 

Commissioning & Handover Support

  • Supporting testing and commissioning activities on site
  • Ensuring installations are completed and ready for inspection and handover
  • Assisting in closing out snag lists and finalising documentation

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a Site Manager / Supervisor role within data centres, construction or technical installations
  • Strong understanding of white space environments, including cabling, racks and containment systems
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams
  • Good knowledge of health & safety requirements in construction or technical environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
